This... is getting a second season? I'll admit there is advantages since it is short form, but seriously? There are other anime out there who have been waiting on a second season more worthy of this. Guess its the power of loli...

I was kinda surprised that the soon to be 42-year-old Rie Tanaka, who is in her 23rd year in the voice acting industry, was cast to voice a loli character in a 2021 TV anime series. I expect her recent and upcoming anime characters to sound like mature, adult women with often low, deep voices - Elsha in High School DxD; Sofia in Arte; Rosetta / Rose Queen in Granblue Fantasy; Sachiko Kamata in Midnight Occult Civil Servants (TV); etc. Although she has done some loli voices in her 23-year career - she has been doing the voice of Hikari Kujou / Shiny Luminous in the Precure series since early 2005; Ciel in the Mega Man Zero (Rockman Zero in Japan) games; and Neptune in the Neptunia games and anime -Rie Tanaka has never specialized in loli roles, like, say for example, her contemporary, Rie Kugimiya (the Queen of Tsundere), has. Tanaka's natural voice is a mid-ranged mature woman's voice, enabling her to go up and down in her voice acting roles. Here is how Rie Tanaka sounds as Rosetta / Rose Queen in the 2019 Granblue Fantasy Versus fighting game (the well-endowed woman on the right); as Nadeshiko Sakura in the 2020 Sakura Revolution (Sakura Kakumei) mobile game, who narrates on how to play the game and who is the mother of the protagonist, Shino Sakura; and as Zhāng Chūnhuá in Sangoku Bushinden (Legend of the Three Kingdoms), the Japanese version of a Chinese mobile game. For years, many Japanese voice actors who have worked in anime also do Japanese dubs of overseas entertainment. Other Japanese voice actors appear to specialize in dubbing overseas entertainment, not voicing roles in anime. With certain exceptions, younger Japanese voice actors in their twenties and thirties seem to be preferred in doing roles in anime. (Veteran voice actresses like Kikuko Inoue and Atsuko Tanaka have been able to successfully land many mature women's roles in anime for years.) Japanese female voice actors who can do mature women's voices appear to be more in demand to dub overseas entertainment than those stuck with naturally high-pitched voices, which are much in demand in anime, but a huge obstacle in dubbing overseas entertainment, unless one is dubbing children's voices. Most of Rie Tanaka dubbing roles of overseas entertainment are American Hollywood films, web series, and web films, including heroine Mera, played by Amber Heard, in the DC Extended Universe Hollywood live-action superhero films Aquaman (2019) and Justice League (2018); villain Ava Starr / Ghost, played by Hannah John-Kamen,in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Hollywood live-action Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018); potential main villain in a possible sequel, Quynh, played by Van Veronica Ngo / Ngô Thanh Vân in the 2020 Neftlix superhero film The Old Guard; the evil main villain Dodge, played by Laysla De Oliveira in the 2020 Netflix supernatural horror drama series; etc. Tanaka also voiced Princess Bubblegum in the Japanese dub of the American animated series Adventure Time on Cartoon Network Japan. One of Rie Tanaka's most notable dubbing roles is one of Stephen King's most terrifying villains, Annie Wilkes, played by Lizzy Caplan, who is the main character in the 2019 Stephen King anthology series Castle Rock Season 2 on Hulu. The Japanese dub version of Castle Rock 2 aired on the Japanese satellite TV station WOWOW. This is a younger version of Annie Wilkes, played by Kathy Bates, who won an Academy Award as Best Actress in the Rob Reiner-directed 1990 film adaptation of the Stephen King novel Misery. Rie Tanaka has voiced a lot of villains and antagonists in anime, games, and overseas dubs in her 23-year-old voice acting career, starting off with the likes of Morganna in the 2002 TV anime series .hack//SIGN, Suigintou in the 2004 Rozen Maiden series, and Tomoe Marguerite in the 2005 TV anime series Mai-Otome, and later with the very lewd Kiara Sesshouin in the very lewd 2013 Fate/EXTRA CCC game and Fate/Grand Order (2015-). And people wonder why the Japanese dub of "Moaning" Lisa in the heavily Japanese-influenced Chinese gacha game Genshin Impact - before miHoYo nerfed Lisa's Japanese erotic moaning voice - came from and has generated millions of views in a few months alone on YouTube.
