I was suspicious the moment this was announced that it was a vaporware/placeholder to outmaneuver the fact that there has - since the launch of the Quest 2 more or less, been a free Attack on Titan game you can sideload. Footage of the most recent Itchio version looks pretty good/insanely-well put together. Footage of this version looks like a dev team that came together overnight, quickly tried to slap something together to make a buck off of the fact that AoT is probably one of the first Quest 2 games you install after buying the system....
This type of chucking out a small VR game to die horribly only serves to thin out respect for the medium. We've got some really impressive experiences in VR right now, but if the only things that folks are seeing is throwaway phone crap like this, it's never gonna take off. |
