Thank you for this convenient break down of Akamatsu's media-related political career over the years! It's hard finding everything in one spot, and I've had to bring him up a lot recently., so I'm going to bookmark this article for future use. <3
Anyway, it still sound like a generally low-action position. From my understanding, his last position involved reviewing and writing critiques on bills before they pass, as well as recommendations for court judges to defer opinions to, but his activity was mostly limited to his expertise, which was laws affecting creatives and free expression. It was a pleasure reading his support for same-sex marriage, though.

It's so weird that someone has a position to be in charge of such a variety of things that, for the most part, don't really have anything to do with each other.
