The original release was a fun game I never got to fully beat (iCloud deleted my final dungeon save as punishment for not subscribing). I'm looking at these screenshots and getting all nostalgic, so that's a sign the magic is still there. Have I mentioned I'm glad it's finally out of Apple jail?
It's kind of a relief to hear there's now an easier difficulty, but that it still requires you to do fights "correctly." The complex puzzle bosses are fun to figure out, the margin for error was just a little too tight on the iOS version. It's also not a game you can do under-leveled for extra "challenge" as you will generally not have the tool needed to beat a boss until hitting the area's recommended level. Memories of a certain poison swamp zone are resurfacing as I write this, so I'll probably go with don't-call-it-Easy even knowing most of the strats already.
I have two very pedantic corrections to make, though: first, Sakaguchi didn't write Final Fantasy VI (he took a back seat producer role on that one, V and IX are the ones he penned himself); second: Mistwalker has (reportedly) been hard at work on Fantasian: Dark Edge, so this one won't be his last game after all.

Sounds like a worthy new JRPG from Sakaguchi!
