As far as I'm concerned, Sony's figures of 160M PS2s are final. It took over a decade for the figures to go from 155M to 160M, and an extra eight months for them to be officially corroborated. No new sales numbers were announced since (nor ever will be).

It's only a matter of time before the dethroning, but still astounding they've sold this much. It took twelve years for the PS2 to reach 150 million units. They've also sold around 1.3 BILLION units in software. It's only really slowed down at the tail end with how much steam its had.
