Oh wow, big congratulation to Tamagotchi for being inducted into the Video Game Hall of Fame even though I never had one, but it was a big fad back when I was in my late days of elementary schools (I had seen kids my age back in 1997 and 1998 carrying these).

Also, it's nice to see Quake and Goldeneye 64 now being added in there too given that I grew up playing Goldeneye on my N64 as a 90's kid. I had brief exposure to Quake, but never fully played it. But given that Quake and Quake 2 has now been given enhanced re-release on modern consoles, I would like to play it since I also grew up playing Doom as a kid (yeah, I know I was too young to play that game but I had a hell of a fun time playing that classic FPS as a kid). But it's cool to see Quake and Goldeneye being added into the hall of fame for video game alongside Tamagotchi.

It seemed every kid had a Tamagochi, Digimon, or Giga Pet for a few years there. My experience with the virtual pet fad was actually Chao Adventure, a mini-game you downloaded to your VMU (a memory card with a small Game Boy-style screen and buttons) from the Sega Dreamcast game Sonic Adventure. Very clever take on the formula, in that collectibles (i.e. the critters freed from robot enemies) from the regular levels of the main game could be used to boost the stats of your chao in the pet-raising simulation game.

I've heard of the Strong Museum of Play before. I've seen it a few times on Travel Channel's "Mysteries at the Museum." It has a number of stuff there. Things like Tamagochis are perfect for a place like that.

I have more hours in Goldeneye 007 (N64) and still think Quake (III / Arena) is the best thing since sliced bread. Wait until you try it! Very Happy

Also I might be the worst Tamagatchi owner
