The biggest takeaway from seeing this bit of news is that there is apparently a Japanese version of Kickstarter that I never knew of.

Shame that they didn't get even close to their goal, but from the sounds of it the series should have tried to make a comeback long before now, let alone trying to throw an isekai version into it. Either that or courted other audiences beyond just Japan

Well that's a shame. Sounds like it would have been fun and I would have bought it for certain if an English version released on Steam. The only Isekai themed visual novel I read was Hatsumira: From the Future Undying from Frontwing. They're more rare than you think.

There are actually quite a few crowdfunding platforms operating out of Japan such as ReadyFor, Motion-Gallery and Makuake (who actually has an ongoing partnership with Indiegogo) - although probably the biggest one of the lot has to be Campfire.

It's too bad, but 30 million yen feels like it was way too ambitious for something this old.

Back in the late 90 - early 00's, but they really a shell of glory days of raunchy eroge VN era, while getting missed off the train when most of the VN publishers switched on to the all-age works or other ventures.

Ambitious? 30 million yen (or basically ~200k USD) is barely a serious budget to develop a new game from scratch even on indie level.

Man, I had an imported GBC cartridge version of Pia Carrot… bought a random lot of Japanese carts from eBay in the 2000s. At least it helped me learn a bit of Japanese. Laughing (Just in case it’s a rare or sought after game, I don’t own it any more)

Wow, fans of an ancient eroge franchise (the ones who are still alive, at least) don’t bite when offered an all-ages non-eroge that for some reason also has to be an isekai?

I’m sorry, but what were they thinking?

Yep, was going to mention this. i've supported a campaign on Campfire before. Japan is quite big on crowdfunding.

Regarding the game, I feel like I'd vaguely heard of this game before so it's a shame it didn't meet its goal.
