I'm kind of gobsmacked. For a series that stopped publishing after 3 volumes, it has somehow managed to get to a third season (and IIRC well past where the light novels ended). I mean I'm happy about it because I enjoy the series, but I'm just really, really surprised.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer show...Was concerned that the viewership hadn't crossed the threshold based on ANN's viewer rating but announced this early shows it was more popular than thought... Have liked this from the beginning and if the reviewer was an indication, this should have been getting more appealing than the beginning...

Not surprised since they had a some major developments which where put on hold and the post credits scene brought it back again.

Iirc the WN is completed and the LN has resumed publication in Japan, so there is still a wealth of material to make more seasons.

Those times when I lost hope for an anime because the LN's first edition got discontinued feel so far away. See you again, Hakkon & cie.

Kadokawa is probably pushing the show regardless of what the viewership is like but I have to imagine the audience for isekai isn't the demographics reading ANN daily streaming reviews.

A great example of the power of anime. The first season got things going (new LN volumes plus reprints of the older ones) and now the question is how many seasons the series will get.

I was personally *way* more excited to hear that Farming Life in Another World (or Campfire Cooking in Another World) was getting another season. I have to admit, I haven't gotten much out of the second season of Vending Machine. Still, as always, I'm happy for the people who do like it. Congrats. The little Vending Machine that Could.

Still hoping of a figure of Lammis carrying Boxxo/Hakkon being released.

The Baccano! anime happened 18 years ago, long before the modern isekai boom even began for anime.

I enjoy this series well enough, but it is still wild to me that of all the shows this is the one that not only has three seasons, they get this announcement right away. Guess thats the power of a more chill vibe type of series.

So happy for this. I read all 3 book when they came out in the USA some years ago and do to the popularity of the anime the book got restarted and a 3rd season (probably next year).

If your wondering the 1st season did amazing sales in japan and the digital books got a increase of 3000% sold, so another season for it is surprising but not stunning and i would not be surprised to see the anime do a full run to the end.

I mean, even with inflation it probably costs a 10th of what that one did, and probably gets five times as many viewers.

From my understanding, based on people in the spoilers section on r/anime, the majority of the WN chapters post revival got condensed into 2 LN. The first season covered LN 1-3, season 2 covers LN 4, with season 3 probably covering LN 5 and finishing the story.
