This is an artifact of the original localization of G Gundam. Almost everything had its name changed besides the core Shuffle Alliance Gundam's (Shining, Maxter, Dragon, Rose, and Bolt.) Heck, even the titular God Gundam and the main villain Devil Gundam became Burning and Dark Gundam. This is likely to be a desire to distance the show from any religious connotations, of which Mandala is to Buddhist beliefs. To this day, they keep this naming convention, so whenever we get the Tequila Gundam, expect it to be called the spike Gundam. |

No US pre-order yet. All the new G Gundam HGs have all been p-bandai only which stinks since it's not mega easy/affordable to order from. I'll probably pick this one up and hopefully get the shuffle alliance member HGs eventually. Always happy to get more G-Gundam anything.

I'm physically incapable of criticizing any new gunpla release, especially weird ones like this... but I gotta say, with each passing year, it becomes more and more frustrating that we don't have (m)any HG (or better) kits of the Wing, F91 or Victory grunts. So many incredible mech designs... left to languish.
I just wanna build a Taurus of Virgo II before I die. Please, Bandai, make it so. |
