Dude has great taste I'll give him that. I don't think they are in the right order for me personally but Mashima do Mashima. Also I think Ghost of Yōtei sucks personally.

Capcom really did something wrong if even Hiro Mashima (longtime Monster Hunter fan) didn't put MH Wilds in this top 10 list. On another note, I'm surprised to see BL4 in his list. Somehow, I just didn't think he'd play that kind of game.

I can agree with everything sans Borderlands 4, the little I played of it crashed half of the time and it seems like the story isn't any better than Borderlands 3.

I'm shocked he didn't list The Hundred Line, Shuten Order or No Sleep for Kaname Date. Those are my top 3.

Decent list. Glad Octopath got some recognition. I spent like 130 hours on it. Lol

It's still amazing how Mashima managed to update his workflow enough where he has like a 5-chapter cushion for three different series while having enough time to sleep, game, and otherwise live and ensure the same for his assistants.

Visual novels aren't exactly known for their gameplay.

Nor do Hundred Line or No Sleep for Kaname Date are visual novels, in traditional sense (plus Mashima played The Hundred Line and liked it).

I thought it was just me, but something really did feel off about MH Wilds. While there was a lot of improvements to the combat mechanics, the progression felt too fast. Like one second you are hunting Chatucabaras and fetching ore, then the next second we are wrestling Apex monsters and slaying elders. Early quests in the old games may have been a slog to get though, but it helped build hype and make your latter hunts feel well earned. That natural progression is just missing in Wilds, and leads to higher rank hunts being repetitive with the same few apex/elders but on varying difficulties. Then you also have the hunting itself. In Wilds you never have to track down monsters. As soon as you mount your sekiret, it taxis you to the monster no matter where it is, so the only part of the game you use your brain for is the combat.

If you think Ghost of Yotei sucks then you must hate Tsushima as well because Yotei almost improved every aspect that isn't the story. The exploration is actually meaningful this time around and the world encourages and rewards you for going off the beaten path. It's not your typical Ubisoft style map that gives you a check list. Not to mention that the side content is quite varied. The game sits at 86 on metacritic for a reason.

The only game I can agree with is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I haven't played Donkey Kong but it's probably alright although the idea of breakable environments in a platformer seem like a bit of a waste and would undermine level design so I'm not in a huge hurry to play it.

I'm not an expert on Monster Hunter, but judging from all of the comments and posts I've read about Wilds, it seems to be regarded as a disappointment for many longtime players, and not just because of its technical performance. Before its release I thought MH: Wilds was going to be a guaranteed hit, especially after World became the series' breakthrough hit worldwide and how popular the series still is in Japan, but I've heard that while Wilds' initial sales were great, it is not selling as well as Capcom hoped it would, and in Japan they're selling MH: Wilds copies at extremely low prices, no wonder why it seems Capcom is trying to improve its performance and trying to port the game to the Switch 2.

What’s wrong with it?

Game has sold over 10 million copies over the last year don’t know if it’ll reach the lifetime sales of World. But they couldn’t have possibly been expecting to sell that many copies in such a short time.

This should be fun.

You're quick to make baseless assumptions about a game you haven't played huh?
And how can you agree or not agree with the list when it's his personal one, besides most of these games were critically acclaimed.

Stuff like Clannad and The Fruit of Grisaia are visual novels. Thrse games are more on the adventure side with visual novel elements. Calling those purely a visual novel is the same as calling the Persona games a visual novel.
