That’s sad, I’ve always loved seeing her in anything - my personal favorite being her role in Beetlejuice (and it’s surprisingly good sequel).

I am absolutely gutted over this. I have loved watching her in every tv show and movie she has been in. She’s truly a one-of-a-kind legend. I’m planning to rewatch Schitt’s Creek this weekend in her honor. I’ll also rewatch When Marnie Was There.

I loved her in Home Alone 1 and 2 as Kevin's mother aka Kate McCallister in both films. Here's what you might not know about me: Home Alone is my favorite childhood film of mine as someone who grew up as a 90's kids. When I first heard about this today earlier, I was really heartbroken to hear her pass away. I hope she, John Heard, and John Candy are together in heaven. RIP Catherine O'Hara, I'll always remembered you as Kevin's mother.

I don't believe this. First Shioya San, then U discovered Sal Buscema passed away last week and now Catherine has died! And this is after we lost David Lynch last January.
This is heart breaking. I loved her as Sally from The Nightmare before Christmas. And I watched Beetlejuice last month. She was great in with films.
RIP Catherine.

I was really surprised by her death. I really looked forward to all her future projects, especially with how well Beetlejuice II turned out. I wish her family prayers during this time of transition.
I do hope her doctors gave her the best care and she passed peacefully.

This is a celebrity passing that really had an effect on me last night. I really liked her role in both Beetlejuice films. I'm glad her character got closure in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and the sequel got to be completed/released before she passed away.
Gonna have to watch her voice acted films in her honor, including: When Marnie Was There, Rock & Rule, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pippi Longstocking, Bartok the Magnificent, Frankenweenie, and the 2019 The Addams Family film.
Also gotta finally get to watching The Last of Us as I didn't know she was in the second season.

Not many people and their reputations are known for purely bringing joy to this world and she was one of those rare few. The world will remember her with as much laughter as they are sadness, and especially as chances are a lot of the tears are caused by the great laughter she made happen. To quote Macaulay, “I thought we had time.” A real honor to have been apart of this world with you, Catherine.

I've been enjoying Ms. O'Hara's work for nearly half a century now, ever since NBC began to run SCTV in the midnight slot after Saturday Night Live, starting in 1981 when I was in high school. Surely one of the great comedy ensembles of all time; Ms. O'Hara, Harold Ramis, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Joe Flaherty, Dave Thomas.... The first year, when they were working with a micro-budget (and before Ramis left to work in Hollywood) was my favorite. I still watch that stuff from time to time and it really holds up. God bless, Ms. O'Hara, and thanks for all the laughs and tears.
