Ooooh lordy! On one hand, I'm super happy about this. From Far Away is such a great manga and one of the better female-led isekai of the 90s. On the other hand, like with Red River, I'm really not sure if an anime adaptation of it will actually be good in the modern landscape, especially since most anime aren't allowed to be longer than 13 episodes, resulting in a lot of rushing and leaving out important parts. I still haven't forgotten how utterly butchered the anime version of Tale of Outcasts came out, and I REALLY don't want From Far Away to suffer the same fate.

Wh-wh-what?!

From Far Away and Red River both getting anime adaptations this year? I'm starting to think I time-slipped into a fantasy world myself.

Okay. Never imagined this would happen. This is crazy. This series used to be pretty popular in my home country. Shocked

YES!

I’ve been wanting to read the manga so I will be watching this anime! And seeing a classic shoujo isekai get animated makes me really happy!

There is enough filler in the manga that a 2-cour run could fit the full plot in without issue.

Really hope this prompts Viz to finally give us a deluxe edition or something, it really does deserve it (more realistically, at least just reprint it like they did for Banana Fish)

First Red River and now this????

I know it took a a while but it looks like isekai adaptations are finally going through the backlog!

Does this mean Genbu Kaiden is finally going to be on the cards?????

I don't know what we did to step in a world where classic Shoujo Isekai series are finally getting anime adaptions, but I'm not going to complain!

Though it would be kind of funny if someone saw the announcement of the Red River anime and thought "well, let's do another series in that vein that's got an anniversary going along!"

I saw that headline last night and couldn't help but remember that some nihilistic Twitter poster had said sometime around the Olympics in response to something shoujo related (maybe Hana-Kimi?) that there was no way they'd be getting a Red River or From Far Away adaptation and look where we are now. Laughing Fingers crossed for solid productions!
