Considering the utterly random nature of this addition, I imagine Galaxy Kickoff!! was in the same boat that Ashita no Joe 1 & 2 were in over a year ago (or even Offside & Minky Momo before those), i.e. Crunchyroll likely licensed it a good while ago (probably as part of a package deal), but then proceeded to do literally nothing with it. Then the Japanese licensor (ADK Emotions, in this case) probably contacted CR & asked "Hey, are you going to do ANYTHING with this show we licensed to you?!", so CR was left no choice but to actually produced a translation for it & add it to their catalog.
It's essentially the "Hey, guys! Guess who got yeeeeellllleed aaaaaaat?!" meme. |
