The Anime Castle banner ads. I'm not sure how to post them here although I expect most people are familiar with these. There are quite a few of them but the latest one consists of a scrolling up shot of a girl who looks all of maybe 10 years old in her underwear and the question "do you watch anime in bed?" and "click to see more" underneath. Then there are fake buttons saying: "yes/no/what's anime?" Of course they don't actually do anything and just take you to the site just like clicking anywhere on the ad.
I guess they aren't really vulgar so much and so they don't breach ANN's advertising policy but they're just so smutty. I don't pretend to understand how exactly ANN and its advertising works but can't we do better? Do we really need to have ads that use tacky fake button tricks and imply that anime is nothing more than pornography (or worse)? Maybe it's just me but I wanted to bring this up and see if anyone else felt the same way. |

I believe that tempest already addressed the issue, and if I'm correct in remembering, he said that they have the right to run whatever adds they want. Granted it's not anything overdone that would be improper for minors like sex, and/or super violent adds.

I don't find anything to bad with the Anime Castle ads. I think they're kind of dumb but I don't think they need to be removed.
