Hey there -
I was trying to help add a release to the Ranma 1/2 manga (#2436), but when I try to add the ISBN 9780929279930, the site informs me that it does not belong to a "known distributor". The thing is, it is the first edition of the first volume of this series. It was published by Viz Media, which IS a known distributor. Viz may no longer carry this specific edition, but when I added the first editions of volumes 2-10, I had no problem. I hope this can be fixed soon so I can continue to update my collection list. Thanks! |

My roommate (who's a librarian) pulled up the Amazon page for me, here: http://www.amazon.com/Ranma-1-2-Vol/dp/092927993X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329206428&sr=8-1 (as it confirms the ISBN-13)
My suggestion would be to try to enter it via the ISBN-10. |

I tried to add it and received the same error message. It looks as if this problem needs dormcat or Dan42.

I've added the release. What "unknown distributor" means is that no other ISBN in the database starts with 978-0-929279, which is the distributor prefix for this book. Now that I've added this release and associated it with Viz, any other book with ISBN starting with 978-0-929279 can be added, and will be associated with Viz.
