I am assuming because they aren't releasing the digital numbers, that they must be bad and no where near offsetting the drop in print?

Comics in the west doesn't release digital numbers either, I hear they outsell their print versions. I think they just talking about the print, I feel the magazines will be all digital in the near future. |

For WSJ, the ending of long-running favorites like "Naruto", "Kochikame", and "Bleach"might have a factor. People might drop them since there is not as much as an incentive to read the mag when your favorite series has ended.
