I love the Zabuza mask and find his actor's last name appropriate. I wonder how they will portray Kurama.

I like the new batch more than the four adults pretending to be 12y.o. Its fun for cosplay, but awful for stage and screen.

Every time I see other anime/manga-related stage plays, everyone seems to look awful. All these Naruto characters look great to me!

Calling them adults is stretching it when one of them is still a teen while the rest are still under 21.

First thing I though too. It's due to using more gritty designs and not trying to mimic the bright color palette of the anime.

Kōdai Matsuoka - 17
Ryūji Satō - 19 / 20 next week
Yui Itō - 20
Kenta Suga - 20

17 would be a young adult, but the other three are well out of high school and the last two (almost three) are old enough to legally drink in Japan. It's no stretch at all calling the four of them adults.

I usually find basically all of live adaptations to be ridiculous, and embarrassing overall. I just can not watch them, none of it.

But this cast looks much better than usually. Zabuza is the best. Gaara is also good, i.e. very evil. Wink

I wonder, though, why producers have decided to make Haku a female. There should be plenty of amazingly feminine young Japanese actors. This is probably the same thing as with Black Butler, where the little earl was turned into female to avoid any homosexual connotations/context/subtext.

Apparently, Japanese society is still not ready such things; for most people this whole gay things is always somewhere out there, but not in Japan.

(Though I, personally, do not necessary tie both Haku or the earl situations with anything homosexual. But I note this since probably many do and this is why producers had to make changes.)
