Flame of Recca is a little too pricy. It better have been remastered to make it worth buying. A redub (with the original VA's of course) would definitely make it more worth it.

Thanks!

I heard Another is a good series. I like Psychological series so it will be a good watch.

Wow. animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-02-24/north-american-anime-manga-releases-february-22-28/.85344
$130 for the anime#14448

Funimation, Sentai Filmwork, Viz media and Aniplex.

So this is why my friend likes Funimation's licensed series better. It's cheaper for complete series

Yes Another is Amazingly well written, the loops it throws you for are amazing, and it's very well done , towards the middle it gets a bit meh but the beginning and the end are amazing.

@AnimeAddict2014

ANN lists the releases at their MSRP. Love, Chunnibyou and other Delusions is available from TRSI at $77.99 for the Bluray, hybrid (dub and sub) collectors edition. If you are OK with a sub only DVD version it can be had for $37.99. It is not a psychological horror series, it is humor, slice of life and romance.

Another is a completely different series.

It sure would be nice if someone picked up Hyouka, it's been far too long since it came out.

Probably won't be happening. Which is sad, I really enjoyed that and would spend $$$ to own it.

It also includes a ton of stuff, including a chipboard box, an art book, post cards, collectibles and the like. That's why the price is higher. It's a limited edition and includes a lot more material than you get with most collectors editions from Funimation and even Aniplex.

Many, if not most of Sentai's bluray series can be found on Amazon and other retailers for around $40 and lower.

what if you don't want the extra stuffs?

i browse around YouTube and saw the specials of season 1 --with German sub

It was good, aside from the horrible video quality.

I thought it was some mech theme series but it was clear on special #6 Laughing

If you want it dubbed, then you're stuck with the limited edition being your only option.

If you're fine with a sub only DVD release of the first season, you can grab it from RightStuf for under $40USD.

i have to ask

Sub ONLY- often DVD?

DUB version -- often Blu-ray with both dub and sub? is that why it's 2x-3x the price?

Really happy I was still able to order a copy of the LE of Love, Chunnibyou and other Delusions today. I was worried it might already be sold out since IIRC it's a very limited run.

Now just need to order the 4th Kill la Kill LE. Flame of Recca is one I'll get eventually, I always wanted to see that one but never could get around to it.

Nice to have the 2nd Index novel, and I'm really anticipating the first novel of The Devil is a Part-Timer! coming out in a few months. Also looking forward to reading No Game, No Life and Durarara when they come out. Yen Press is on a roll with these light novel licenses. Though I wonder if they'll ever consider licensing novels based off anime that have been over for a while (Baccano, Shakugan no Shana, Haganai, and Baka and Test I'm thinking of).

@ AnimeAddict2014

You apparently missed all the furor over Love, Chunnibyou and other Delusions. It was supposed to come out last May in both DVD and Bluray in a subbed only version. At the last minute Sentai cancelled the Bluray version and announced that they would Dub the show and issue the Bluray as a special edition. The DVD shipped as scheduled.

The Limited Edition is now out. It is roughly twice the price because it is in a fancy box with a plethora of post cards and trinkets and a book and it is a Dubbed Bluray. This is the first time Sentai has been bitten by the Limited Edition bug. No one has any information on when or if a standard edition Dubbed Bluray will be issued.

Currently in North America you have a choice between a sub only DVD or a pricey Dubbed Bluray version. If you don't want all the junk but do want a dub or Bluray version you are SOL.

Sentai does not communicate the basis behind any of their decisions on such matters. If you are questioning the logic behind this situation, the answer is "no one knows".
