The PV looks great and they picked quite a strong cast for this series. Can't wait for this to air.

I could never think of a voice for Sakamoto when I was reading this anime but Midorikawa might be an interesting and funny choice.

I will definitely give this a watch when it''s out Smile

The manga won the best "male-oriented" comics volume award from Da Vinci magazine and the Comic Natalie Grand Prize in 2013.

Unless there is something parodic about this work that I fail to appreciate, I would assume that it has a slightly broader target audience than that…

Oh, this looks nice. Deen is handling handful of potentially interesting works, and I've been impressed with Rakugo this season. If their content keeps improving, I might actually not feel my heart sinking when I hear they're an upcoming anime's studio. I guess the question is if these are flukes (the right people were hired for the right thing) or if they are consciously trying to improve their image. Though I heard Reikenzan was pretty bad looking and written so...

I assume they're taking it from the magazine demographic; harta is considered seinen I believe. Though audiences and appeal aren't restricted to that, of course.

There is a significant female following for Sakamoto, but yes, it's a (completely stone-faced) comedy. The premise is that Sakamoto is so cool, that everything he does is cool (up to and including opening convenience store rice balls), and every incidence of misfortune or attempted bullying he encounters just ends up making him even cooler, in improbable-verging-on-surreal ways.

Hope it boosts English volume sales. Apparently it has done really badly for Seven Seas so far. Sad
