Amazon Prime Video's Anime Times service and the Anime India convention announced the "Anime Idea Contest" on Instagram on Friday. The contest will accept video and written applications globally until July 31.

Registrations for the competition are open on its website. The theme is India-Japan cross culture and the website presents the following examples:

  • A former Japanese baseball player, whose dream was shattered, joins an Indian cricket team and aims for the top once again.
  • A Japanese high school girl on a school trip to India rescues an imprisoned Indian prince.

The contest is open to individuals, teams, companies, and organizations. Anime Times and Anime India might extend the deadline based on the volume of submissions.

The prizes are 1 million yen (₹5,96,270) for the video category and 300,000 yen (₹1,78,881) for the proposal category. The companies might consider "outstanding ideas" for future distribution opportunities.

Anime India will the host voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue (Naruto, Parasyte -the maxim-, 2025 Ranma ½) as a guest at its upcoming event in Delhi. Delhi Anime India will take place at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre on June 6 and June 7.
