Shonen Jump: Medaka Box Has 3rd Project Besides Anime, Novel

Magazine indicates another project in the works, based on school action comedy manga

This year's 50th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is indicating on Monday that there is another Medaka Box project in the works, in addition to the previously revealed anime and novel. The magazine does not specify the third project's medium or release window.

Shouji Saeki (This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, He Is My Master, Mahoromatic: Tadaima Okaeri) is directing the television anime version of NisiOisin and Akira Akatsuki's Medaka Box school action comedy manga at the anime studio Gainax. Monday's issue of Weekly Shonen Jump is also announcing that NisiOisin is writing the Medaka Box novel.

In the original manga, Medaka Kurokami, the strongest girl in Hanokiwa Academy, leads the school's student council. The student body can submit pleas for help, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, into the suggestion box that Medaka installed. Together with council members Zenkichi, Akune, and Kikaijima, Medaka takes on the challenges in the school that range from mundane tasks to supernatural battles.
