The four-minute promotional video for Tales of Xillia 2, the latest role-playing game in Namco Bandai Games' "Tales of" franchise, began streaming on Saturday. The ad features some of the anime footage from the studio ufotable, as well as the theme song "Song 4 u" by Ayumi Hamasaki. The video reveals that Naomoto Yamamoto (scenario support on Tales of Hearts/Versus/Graces) has replaced scenario writer Daisuke Kiga (Tales of Versus) from the first Tales of Xillia game.

Bandai Namco Games also streamed the following videos this week:

Rowen J. Ilbert Character Video

Combat Video: Body Shell (Gaikaku) Mode

The third commercial in the franchise's first-ever weekly seven-part ad campaign aired on Saturday as well.

The "RPG where choice weaves the future" is set one year after the ending of the first Tales of Xillia. The key to the story is an eight-year-old girl named Elle Mel Marta (played by Mariya Ise). Daigo Okumura (Tales of the Tempest, Yumeria game, Elementhunters) is designing the new characters, in addition to the ones previously designed by Mutsumi Inomata (Windaria, Future GPX Cyber Formula, Utsunomiko) and Kousuke Fujishima (Aa Megami-sama, You're Under Arrest, Sakura Wars).

The game will ship for the PlayStation 3 console on November 1. Pre-orders will cost 8,380 yen (about US$105) and include the Tales of Xillia 2 -Before Episode- novel and artbook by the scenario writer, three alternate downloadable costumes (including Tales of Symphonia's Emil costume for Ludger), and 17 custom PlayStation 3 themes. Buyers can also add an official Dual Shock 3 Tales of Xillia 2 X (Cross) edition controller for a total of 12,980 yen (US$163).
