The British artist Sam Gilbey (profile) has posted the original artwork which he created to promote the anime action film Ninja Scroll. Posters featuring the artwork were given away at last week's Ninja Scroll screening at the Hackney Picturehouse cinema. Gilbey comments, "With this piece I wanted to try and capture the energy and feel of the classic anime, utilising loose flowing marks." He added that he wanted to reinterpret the characters, rather than copy the anime drawings.

Folllowing the Hackney Picturehouse screening, Ninja Scroll will have a limited cinema release from November 23, and will be released in Steelbook, Blu-ray and DVD editions on November 26.
