Giant World of Final Fantasy Figures Take Over Shibuya Station

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Square Enix's World of Final Fantasy PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita game will ship in Japan on October 27. The game's latest promotional campaign will take Cloud and other Final Fantasy characters to Tokyo's Shibuya Station next week.

Giant "Primero"-size figures of super-deformed Butz, Cloud, Vivi, Yuna, and Lightning will take over the train station alongside promotional posters. The figures that people can touch will appear from the Keio Line ticket gate to the Hachiko statue area. The characters will shout out lines they say in the game.

A demo for the game will launch on October 17. The demo will feature a dungeon with "attack plains" area. The game's protagonists Lann and Reynn collect Mirages and head to a dungeon to face a boss.

People who play the demo and save the data to use with the full version of the game will receive the "Magitek Armor P" Mirage. The "P" apparently stands for police. The armor already appeared on promotional posters in Tokyo that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police are using to promote traffic safety.

People who live near Tokyo can visit the track down the Final Fantasy figures in Shibuya Station from October 10 to October 16. For everyone else, World of Final Fantasy is slated for release in North America on October 25, in Japan on October 27, and in Europe on October 28.

The giant figures will only be on display for a limited time, but small, collectible figures of World of Final Fantasy will be available in March 2017. Each Static Arts Mini figure will cost 3,980 yen (about US$39).
