The singer of the Yuri on Ice! opening theme "History Maker" is inspiring more than fictional skaters to embrace. Dean Fujioka is Japanese men's top choice of "Man I Want to Embrace Me" according to a poll by Nikkan Spa! Every year the magazine asks 500 men between the ages of 30 to 49 questions and publishes the results. This year, the magazine went the romantic route and asked participants what men they want to hug and be hugged by.
Dean Fujioka was men's top choice for "Man I Want to Embrace Me" with 52 votes, followed by musician and actor Masaharu Fukuyama (Rurouni Kenshin Part III), transgender TV personality Ai Haruna, actor Hiroshi Abe (Thermae Romae live-action film), and SMAP member Takuya Kimura.
Fujioka came in second for "Man I Want to Embrace," behind Ai Haruna and tied with Masaharu Fukuyama. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters pitcher Shohei Otani came in fourth and figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu came in fifth.
Fujioka is both a singer and actor. He is starring as Roy Mustang in the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film and the lead in the live-action adaptation of Maki Enjōji's Happy Marriage!? manga. He won the grand prize at last year's Yahoo! Japan's 2016 Search Awards and Best Supporting Actor for his role in Asa ga Kita at the nineth Tokyo Drama Awards, and won the Newcomer Award at this year's Elan d'or Awards.
Other popular poll choices include baseball player Ichiro, models Yutaka Takenouchi and Ryucheru, and actor Ryunosuke Kamiki.
