BanG Dream! Holds First Ever 'Animate World Fair' in All 125 Animate Stores

The BanG Dream! series announced in a press conference on Thursday the details about its first ever "Animate World Fair", which is slated to hit all 125 Animate stores across the entire world. Original merchandise will be sold exclusively at Animate stores from February 19 to March 17, including reprints of goods which were previously been sold out.

Customers will also receive a free sticker for each BanG Dream!-related purchase they make over 1,000 yen. The Japanese stores will also give out stickers to those who show the start screen of the BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! mobile game at the register.

During the promotion, staff members at the Ikebukuro, Sapporo, Nagoya, Nihonbashi (Osaka), and Kokura stores will be wearing special BanG Dream!-themed aprons. Animate and BanG Dream!'s Twitter accounts will hold a joint giveaway for three aprons signed by Rimi's voice actress Rimi Nishimoto. To enter the giveaway, you must follow both accounts and retweet the tweet below.

"So far, we've only done this kind of thing with Animate Stores domestically. This is the first time we've done this on an international scale. BanG Dream! is, after all, an international property," says Akihiro Sotokawa, Animate company director and head of international operations.

Animate has 119 stores throughout Japan. It also has stores in Shanghai, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taipei, Taichung, and Bangkok.

Bushiroad launched the BanG Dream! multimedia project in January 2015, and the company formed the Poppin' Party band for the project in February 2015. The BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! smartphone game launched in Japan in March 2017, and an English version launched in April. The BanG Dream! television anime's first 13-episode season premiered in January 2017. The second season debuted on January 3 this year, and the third season will premiere in October.
