Fans Hit the Seven Seas with Luffy and Good Smile Figures Hit India at Mumbai Comic Con 2026
posted on by Adriana Hazra
Mumbai Comic Con just had a big year in 2026, hosting its first J-rock show, an anime dubbing booth for fans, and a ship to sail off with Luffy!
With its biggest booth yet, Crunchyroll had photo ops galore with a cherry tree, posters, and an anime street. The company had activities where fans could decorate the booth or even voice lines for an anime in English, Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu! The booth even let fans open doors like Suzume.

Speaking of cherry blossoms, Strike World had the most aesthetic booth adorned in pink all around.

Gamers who wanted less kawaii and more kowai could stop by the CAPCOM booth to try out Resident Evil: Requiem.

Fighting game fans were not left behind. Apart from tournaments in the gaming arena, Lenovo's presentations on stage let everyone try their hand at winning some prizes by playing a couple rounds of Tekken.

Bandai Namco was back at the convention although in a more low key light than previous years. There were no gacha machines or Taiko no Tatsujin this time, but the company did have plenty of merch.

Collectors were not left wanting for variety as My Oshi Store brought Good Smile Company merchandise to India for the first time. Sony Music India's StampEight had vinyl records of gaming soundtracks such as that of Death Stranding; homegrown companies like Otaku Kulture, Zenin, and Sagacity had anime-themed clothing and posters; and artists like Skeindalous Creations had handmade merch for collectors who like their one-of-a-kind pieces.

KitKat launched its One Piece special edition packaging last month and went all out to give fans a chance to pose as one of the Straw Hat Pirates.

That wasn't all, since One Piece fans got the show of a lifetime with Hiroshi Kitadani performing a five song set all of music from the anime. Crunchyroll didn't just stop at that and also brought in Taito Ban for a live dubbing session where he voiced Jinwoo Sung from Solo Leveling.

On the music front, DJ Kazu spoke to ANN about his experience performing in India and said he found the energy in Mumbai to be very different from other international gigs. Having traveled all over the world to play for anime fans, he remembered Saudi Anime Expo as one of his most memorable performances apart from Comic Con India. He spoke of the highlight of his performance at Comic Con this year when he played "Hikaru Nara" from Your Lie in April and the crowd sang along with much enthusiasm.

As always, the event ended with the Mumbai Qualifiers of the Indian Championship of Cosplay where talented artists brought anime, manga, and video game characters to life.
