News ADV Gives up on Eva movie licenses

In an e-mail posted to rec.arts.anime.misc (and confirmed by other sources), ADV Films has "officially declined" on the licensing of the movie follow-ups to the highly popular Neon Genesis Evangelion series. The movies were rumored to have been too expensive for domestic licensors.
ADV also confirmed that they have the rights to the four Slayers OAV's and production portfolio that will be released on two volumes.
