Howl on 1 of every 6 Japanese Screens

Howl's Moving Castle is to be screened on 450 Japanese movie theatre screens. This is the largest theatrical release for a Japanese movie ever. With approximately 2700 theatre screens in Japan, this means that Howl will be screened on out out of every 6 theatre screens. Previous record holder, Mononoke Hime, was released on 348 screens, while Spirited Away, the highest grossing movie ever in Japan, was released on 336 screens.
