Higurashi Second Season Details Revealed

The series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Why they Cry: Higurashi), which was first made into an anime in April 2006, is getting a sequel. The second season is called Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai ("Ni Kai" serves as a pun in the title that can mean both "second time" and "new answer"). The second season will be an original story written with the assistance of original series creator Ryuukishi 07. Currently, TV Kanagawa, TV Chiba and other UHF outlets are slated to broadcast the 24-episode series starting this July.

Kon Chiaki is returning to direct the series again, and Studio DEEN is again handling production.
