Media Blasters Adds Dai Mahou Touge Comedy Anime

Media Blasters is listing a DVD release for an anime called Magical Witch Punie-chan on Right Stuf's online retail store — thus effectively announcing that it has licensed the Dai Mahou Touge video anime series. The eight 12-minute episodes follow a seemingly sweet magical girl named Punie Tanaka (Rina Satō) who wreaks untold havoc and destruction when angered. Punie and her backstabbing animal familiar Paya-tan must spend a year on Earth before she can ascend to the throne of Magical Land. The anime is based on Hideki Ohwada's Dai Mahou Touge manga. According to the retail listing, the anime will ship on one 120-minute, English-subtitled DVD on October 21.
