Kannagi's Eri Takenashi to Rest for At Least 1 Year
posted on by Egan Loo
Kannagi manga creator Eri Takenashi revealed in an August 7 blog entry that she thinks she will rest from drawing for at least one year. Takenashi has been recovering since her debilitating illness and resulting surgery in December.
Despite her hiatus from her work, Takenashi is able to live her normal life for the most part. While she still needs her family for preparing meals or going out, she is at least able to stay awake for an entire day and go out with friends. She is also doing simple tasks like checking manuscripts. According to an August 31 entry, she was not able to go to the Kannagi art exhibition, which ran from August 1 to September 6. However, she wrote on September 2 that she mastered the "Seikan Hikō" (Interstellar Flight) dance from the Macross Frontier anime series.
Bandai Entertainment is releasing the anime adaptation of Kannagi in North America this year, and ANN is streaming the anime episodes.
