Itochu Launches iPhone Manga in N. America This Week

ITOCHU Corporation announced on Thursday that it is now offering electronic manga in North America through its iOS app for Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) paper reported on Itochu's plans in September. Many of the titles come from the manga pioneer Shōtarō Ishinomori or the manga adaptations of Harlequin romance novels. Ishinomori created such manga, live-action, and animated projects as Kamen Rider, Kikaider, and Cyborg 009.

The first chapter of all of the titles are free, and the remaining chapters start "at US$0.99 a chapter."
