Discotek to Offer 'Old CPM Title,' Schedules Other Works

posted on by Egan Loo
The North American video distributor Discotek Media revealed on Wednesday that it will release "another old CPM title with much better quality," as well as "some more, never-before-released movies" and "more stuff from Toei." Discotek also plans a Blu-ray Disc release this year, but says that it is "only going to do them if it's a significant upgrade to the DVD version. It's a waste of money to just slap it on a disc. We would rather spend that money on more licenses."

Discotek also scheduled five previously announced anime titles:

Panda Go Panda: April 17
The Fantastic Adventures of Unico: May 15
Unico in the Island of Magic: May 15
Lupin the 3rd: The Complete First TV Series: June 26
Golgo 13: The Professional: July 24

The Golgo 13: The Professional DVD will be presented in anamorphic widescreen with revised subtitles and director's commentary. Discotek Media explained that it passed on releasing the Galaxy Express 999 television series due to the number of episodes; S'more Entertainment revealed that it will release the series.
