Series to begin broadcast on Cartoon Network this fall; toy line also in the making

International business news source C21Media reported on Thursday that Turner Broadcasting Systems has acquired the racing-themed anime Scan2Go. The anime has already begun airing in various countries around the world, and will begin broadcasting in the US this fall on Cartoon Network. Plans to launch a toy line are also in the works with manufacturer MGA Entertainment.

Cartoon Network acquired the show from animation production company Cookie Jar Entertainment (Spider Riders). Cookie Jar was named the North and South American distribution and licensing agent of the multi-national animated television series last month.

Scan2Go is 52-episode series started in 2011 and created by Tokyo-based animation producer d-rights in conjunction with United Arab Emirates' toy company New Boy, South Korea's SBS Broadcasting, and Stonebridge Capital. It currently airs in South Korea, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
