Hotaru no Hikaru Manga Gets Urara Crossover Before Film

This year's 12th issue of Kodansha's Kiss magazine ran Hotaru no Hikari ~Himono to Buchō no Shinkonryokou (Hotaru's Light: The Honeymoon of the Spinster and Her Boss), Satoru Hiura's bonus Hotaru no Hikari manga story, on Friday. The story brings together the characters from Hiura's ongoing manga series Urara and those from Hotaru no Hikari.
Like the Hotaru no Hikari film, the bonus manga tells the story of office worker Hotaru (once called "himono onna" or "dried-fish woman" for still being unmarried) and her honeymoon with her former boss Takano. However, the film sends the couple to Italy, whereas the manga puts their honeymoon in the island setting of Urara instead.
This bonus story will also be included in the seventh volume of Hotaru no Hikari's bunko (smaller paperback) reprint that goes on sale on Tuesday. The film sequel of the live-action television version of the story opened in theaters on Saturday.
