Sailor Moon, 2 Bleach volumes also rank in top 20

The 57th volume of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga dropped to #9 in Nielsen BookScan's list of top 20 graphic novels in American bookstores for August. The volume debuted on the list at #3 last month.

Three other manga books also landed in the top 20: Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon volume 6 at #17, and Tite Kubo's Bleach volumes 44 and 45 at #19 and #20, respectively. Volume 6 of Sailor Moon had ranked at #2 in July.

The top-selling graphic novel in August was Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Walmart, and some other venues.
