posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
1st new episode to premiere on October 4

The media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream new episodes of Gintama' starting on October 4 at 6:00 a.m. EDT. The company will stream the series in North America, South America, Africa, Europe (except Andorra, Italy, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, and the Vatican City), and the Middle East.

Sunrise and TV Tokyo confirmed in August that Gintama' would return to television starting on October 4. In addition to "Yorinuki Gintama-san" (a repeat of selected Gintama' anime episodes), the broadcast will include new Gintama' episodes. The main staff and cast are returning for the new episodes.

Gintama' is also getting a second film next year and a new game project from Namco Bandai Games. The Gintama television series first ran from April 2006 to March 2010, and then returned for an April 2011-March 2012 run.

Update: Background information added.
