Director Hiroshi Sasagawa Hints at New Animated Gatchaman Film Also

Prolific director Hiroshi Sasagawa (Speed Racer, Yatterman) hinted at a new animated Science Ninja Team Gatchaman film towards the end of the Shibuya LIVE! The Prime Show on Monday.
Sasagawa indicated that an animated film is in the works but did not reveal any further details.
The classic Tatsunoko Productions science-fiction hero anime is getting a live-action adaptation from the production company Nikkatsu and the distributor TOHO NEXT summer. This version will star Tori Matsuzaka, Gō Ayano, Ayame Gōriki, Tatsuomi Hamada, and Ryōhei Suzuki.
Sasagawa recently worked on Tatsunoko Productions 50th anniversary original anime Ippatsu Hyaku-Chū! Devander this year. He also directed many of Tatsunko's earlier Time Bokan anime as well the Gatchaman anime projects.
