1st Berserk Film Wins Silver at Oregon Film Awards

Annual awards presented to films 'that demonstrate a superior level of craftsmanship and quality'


The Oregon Film Awards announced on November 7 that Toshiyuki Kubooka and Studio 4°C's Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King film won a Silver Award in the Animated Film Competition category. The awards festival distributes awards in four recognition levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

The festival's awards are limited and are "presented only to those films and filmmakers that demonstrate a superior level of craftsmanship and quality."

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King is the first of three films in Studio 4°C's theatrical adaptation of Kentarō Miura's Berserk manga. Viz Media will release the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on November 27. The film is screening on Tuesday at the St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF) at 9:30 p.m at the Hi-Pointe Theatre.

The film opened in Japan this past February and premiered in the United States at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The second film premiered in Japan in June, and the third film will premiere in February 2013.
