Australia's Siren Licenses Naoki Urasawa's Monster Anime

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Australian distributor Siren Visual announced that it will release Naoki Urasawa's Monster anime series beginning in November. The series will be released in 5-DVD installments that include Japanese and English audio and the original Japanese soundtrack.

Siren describes the series:

Set in Düsseldorf, Germany; Monster is the story of a Japanese brain surgeon who chooses to save the life of a young boy over the life of the city mayor. Bizarre serial murder follows.

Viz published the Monster manga, as well several other titles by Urasawa, in North America. Viz also released the Monster television anime series, and the anime ran on the television channel Syfy in the United States from 2009 to 2010. A live-action adaptation is being developed by Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, Pacific Rim).

Thanks to WTK for the tip.
