Un-Go Blu-Ray Not Compatible with Panasonic Devices
Manga Entertainment has tweeted the following message about the series Un-Go, which will be released as a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack (pictured) on June 17. (It is a Kaze release, though distributed by Manga Entertainment.)
We wanted to inform you of a technical issue in relation to the playback of the Blu-ray disc included in the upcoming release of Un-Go Complete Box Set, that Manga Entertainment are distributing in the UK for KAZE. There has been a QC (Quality Control) error. We have tested the Blu-ray disc again, to find that it is not compatible with Panasonic devices. We are investigating the reasons for this to the fullest extent. KAZE apologise for any problems this has caused and will offer a replacement product from the KAZE range to those affected. We are unable to comment any further at this time, as soon as there is more information we will be sure to make it known. Please get in touch with us using Direct Message via @MangaUK on Twitter or Facebook if you have any questions.
When Un-Go was released in the U.S., Siren Visual described the series as follows:
Un-Go is a detective story that follows Shinjurou Yuuki, the 'Last Great Detective' as he solves cases in a world where modern technology has surpassed intuition and reasoning. However the underworld in this post-war futuristic Tokyo does not take kindly to someone with Shinjurou's unique talents. The series is based on Ango Sakaguchi's Meiji Kaika Ango Torimonochō with the team from Fullmetal Alchemist, Director Seiji Mizushima, writer Shou Aikawa and studio BONES along with character designs by pako (Scarred Rider Xechs) & Yun Kouga (Gundam 00, Loveless, Earthian).
