Aniplex USA to Screen Blue Exorcist Film in 6 U.S. Cities

English dub cast from TV series to reprise roles for film

Aniplex of America announced at its live-stream event on Thursday that it is collaborating with Eleven Arts to screen the Blue Exorcist film with an English dub in six cities the United States in August. The English dub voice cast from the television anime series will return to voice the dub for the film.

The film will screen in the following cities:

  • Los Angeles Downtown Independent on August 17
  • San Francisco's 4 Star Theatre on August 17
  • Houston's Vintage Park on August 17
  • Katy, Texas' Mason Park on August 17
  • Chicago's Music Box on August 17
  • New York's Big Cinema Manhattan on August 17 and 18

Those who attend the screenings will receive a free poster while supplies last.

The Blue Exorcist film opened in box offices in Japan on December 28. Aniplex of America describes the film's story:

Set at a time when True Cross Academy is in the midst of preparing for a festival celebrated every 11 years, a mysterious demon named Usamaro suddenly appears. Since Usamaro's appearance, strange events have been happening across True Cross Academy. It's up to Rin and the other exorcists to figure out what is going on before their city falls apart.

Aniplex is premiering the film subtitled in the United States at Anime Expo in July.

Aniplex of America released the Blue Exorcist television series on subtitled DVD in North America, and the company will re-release the series with dual audio on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in two sets in July and September. Viz Media's North American streaming service Neon Alley is currently airing the series in dubbed format.
