Seven Seas Prints Dance in the Vampire Bund: The Memories of Sledgehammer Manga

Spinoff mini-series' 1st volume slated for December 3

North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment licensed Nozomu Tamaki's Dance in the Vampire Bund: The Memories of Sledge Hammer manga. The first compiled volume is slated for release on December 3.

Online retailer Amazon posted the story description:

Three months have passed since Princess Mina, queen of all vampires, has recaptured the Bund. The damage inflicted to vampire/human relations runs deep, but a peaceful postwar restoration is now underway.

Yet appearances can be deceiving. Somebody is trying to kill government liaison Reiko Gotoh, but her lycanthrope bodyguard, Seiji Hama, is nowhere to be found. The mystery of Hama's whereabouts can only be solved by examining the past, when the ill-fated couple first met. The past may be the key to saving Gotoh in the present—and to the future of the Vampire Bund itself!

Tamaki launched the mini-series in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine last November. Retailer Taiyosha is listing the third volume as the series' final volume. It will ship in Japan on November 22.

Seven Seas published Tamaki's original Dance in the Vampire Bund manga and the spinoff Dive in the Vampire Bund. Tamaki ended Part I of Dance in the Vampire Bund in Monthly Comic Flapper in October 2012. The series was planned to resume this spring with Part II, but it is not currently being published. Amazon's description notes that the series is expected to resume serialization next year.

A Dance in the Vampire Bund television anime premiered in 2010, and Funimation released the anime in North America.
