Toriko Manga Has 18 Million Copies in Print

The 27th volume of of Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro's Toriko manga announced on November 1 that the series has more than 18 million copies in circulation.

Shimabukuro launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2008. In the story, Toriko is a "Bishokuya" (gourmet food provider) who travels the world to hunt down the animals and plants needed to make the finest cuisine.

Viz Media serializes the manga in its English-language Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine. Viz shipped the 18th volume in North America on October 1. Funimation is releasing the television anime adaptation on DVD in North America. Funimation and Hulu are currently streaming new episodes every Wednesday for audiences in the United States. Crunchyroll also began streaming the series on Monday.
