Bravely Default Sequel 3DS Game Bravely Second Announced

Sequel to feature new character; European launch trailer for 1st game streamed

The 2014 second issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Square Enix is developing a sequel to its Bravely Default: Flying Fairy Nintendo 3DS role-playing game. Square Enix will release the sequel, titled Bravely Second, for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will feature a new character named Magnolia.

In related news, Nintendo UK began streaming the launch trailer on Wednesday for the Western release of the enhanced version of the original game.

The game is shipping in Europe on December 6, in Japan (under the title Bravely Default: For the Sequel) on December 5, and in North America on February 7. A limited-edition version in North America will include an artbook, 34 AR cards, and an original soundtrack CD. The limited-edition European version will include those plus an Agnés figure. The Western release will include dual audio.

Square Enix collaborated with Naotaka Hayashi, scenario writer for 5pb.'s Robotics;Notes, Steins;Gate, and Chaos;HEAd games, to create Bravely Default. The original game shipped in Japan in October 2012.
