posted on by Egan Loo
Tokusō Keisatsu Jumpolice: Jump Undercover Mission Police, a program which presents Shueisha's four manga magazines (Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump Square, V Jump, and Saikyō Jump), will premiere on Friday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m. on TV Tokyo. Famous manga fan Atsuhiko Nakata (center in above photograph) of the comedy duo Oriental Radio, actress Rika Adachi (right in photograph, Detective Conan: The Eleventh Striker), and Nogizaka46 idol group member Rina Ikoma (left) will play members of "Jumpolice, an organization formed to protect the peace of Earth and Jump." They will "thoroughly investigate the appeal of Jump titles through various approaches."
Nakata will play the head detective of the Jumpolice investigations headquarters, while Adachi will play a newly assigned member. Ikoma will play the data analysis specialist.
TV Tokyo has been airing Saki-yomi Jum-Bang!, another show devoted to Shueisha's Jump magazine and manga brand, in the same timeslot since April 3, 2009. However, this current show will end on March 28. Like Tokusō Keisatsu Jumpolice, Saki-yomi Jum-Bang! had comedians and media personalities profiling various Jump titles.
