Nintendo: No Plans to Unveil New Hardware at E3

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Nintendo confirmed with gaming website CVG on Friday that the company has no plans to unveil new hardware at the E3 convention.

Nintendo opened its website for the E3 convention on Tuesday. The website's HTML source briefly had the keywords "new Nintendo system" listed on the website, but they were removed.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata stated in January that the company is considering a "new business structure" that could incorporate smartphones. Nintendo also revealed during its latest financial briefing that it is developing new hardware for a "quality of life" platform. Iwata said the company will unveil the system during the current fiscal year that ends in March 2015.

E3 will be held June 10-12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
