Go Nagai, More Write New Series For Big Comic

Kaiji Kawaguchi, Mitsuo Hashimoto, Fujihiko Hosono, more also write 6 new manga for Akita Shoten magazine

This year's 18th issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine is announcing on Wednesday that six new series will begin in the magazine. One series will begin per issue for six issues.

The first series tentatively titled Kogane no Rough ~Sōta no OO~ (Rough Gold ~Sōta's ___~) will be penned by Tsuyoshi Nakaima (Ucchare Goshogawara), and will begin in the 20th issue. The second series, tentatively titled Ichimatsu Tora Monogatari (The Story of the Capture of Ichimatsu) will be written by Fujihiko Hosono (Crusher Joe, Sasuga no Sarutobi), and will debut in the 21st issue. A still untitled series with art by Mitsuo Hashimoto (Tsukiji Uogashi Sandaime) and a story by Kunihiko Yokomizo will debut in the 22nd issue, the series Subarashikikana Jinsei (A Wonderful Life) with art by Shō Wakasa and story by Masahito Kaga and Yūki Kitahara will begin in the 23rd issue, a still untitled series by Kaiji Kawaguchi (Zipang, Silent Service) and journalist Osamu Eya will begin in the the 24th issue, and finally, a still untitled manga by Go Nagai (Cutey Honey, Kekkō Kamen) will begin in the 25th issue.

Nagai is launching his Grendizer Giga series in Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine later this month. Nagai launched the autobiographical manga Gekiman! ~Mazinger Z no Shō~ (Gekiman!: Mazinger Z Chapter) in Nihonbungeisha's Weekly Manga Goraku last month. The autobiographical manga reveals the untold story of the creation of Nagai's Mazinger Z manga.

Nagai ended his Cutey Honey vs Devilman Lady manga last October. He served as a member of the nominating committee for the 18th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes this year.
