Assassination Classroom spinoff premieres in Japan on Friday

Crunchyroll and Funimation announced on Wednesday that they will stream the upcoming Assassination Classroom spinoff anime series Koro Sensei Quest!. Funimation's stream will be a simuldub. Stream times and regions will be announced at a later date.

The series will premiere streaming in Japan on December 23 on dTV, UULA, and other services.

Jō Aoto and Kizuku Watanabe began the Koro-sensei Q! (Koro Teacher Quest!) manga, which is a spinoff of Yūsei Matsui's Assassination Classroom manga, in Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine in October 2015. In Koro-sensei Q!, Koro-sensei is a demon king in a world of swords and sorcery. Shueisha published the manga's first compiled volume on July 4.

An anime based on the Koro-sensei Q! manga already premiered with screenings of the Ansatsu Kyōshitsu: 365-Nichi no Jikan (Assassination Classroom The Movie: 365 Days) anime compilation film in November. The new anime series of Koro-sensei Q! will serve as a continuation to the anime film short now in theaters.

Fuji Creative's English website had previously listed the Koro Sensei Quest! anime with 12 10-minute episodes.

The first 22-episode television anime series based on the Assassination Classroom manga premiered in Japan in January 2015, and the second season premiered in January 2016 and ended in July. The manga ended in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in March.

The original manga also inspired two live-action films, the second of which premiered in Japan on March 25.
